When speaking with new customers, we often find confusion about the difference between the Flutter Swooper Flags and Windless Swooper Flags. In fact, they are in two different subcategories on our website! One flag is not better than the other, but they are very different.
Flutter flags are designed to fly (or, for lack of a better word, flutter) in the wind. The pole slides half way up the flag, allowing the top portion of the flag to wave. This design catches potential costumers' eyes with dramatic movement. However, wind is required for the flag to be effective.
In 2014 we introduced the windless swooper flag collection for our customers who needed swooper flags, but due to their environments were unable to use them. Our solution? A flag which stays open- with or without wind. The pole slides all the way through the flag, ensuring the message will be visible at all times.
Which design you choose depends largely on your environment. Do you have enough wind for the flutter flag to be effective? Secondly, your choice is a matter of preference. You may simply prefer the aesthetic of the windless flags.
Regardless of which design you choose, the dreaded phrase "Oh, I didn't know you were here!" will be words of the past.
